Last pages

It's the final few days of 2014....
So here is journal 52: circles

Stencilled with weathered wood, black Sharpie, white Posca, blue metallic gelly roll & some Happy Mail circles.

The words are taken from the theme song of "the Thomas Crowne Affair".....the windmills of my mind.

DLP 53: collage a page using your initial as inspiration

We went for a walk with the dog at our nearest local National Trust Property (Crathes Castle)

The sun was shining in a blue sky & some snowflakes were gently falling....that was my inspiration sorted then :-D

I'll be back tomorrow with the last inchie & twinchie of the year.....

Number 12

I cannot believe that it's all over for my participating in the http://www.thefunkiejunkie.com/ challenge.

Linda's boutique kindly sponsors the challenge and she has given us some wonderful inspiration - check out the blog! So Christmas is almost upon us, only a week away now and we will all be celebrating.

I loved the wreath on the latest tag Linda created and felt like doing a more dimensional that those I've done so far this year

I've used a 5"x8" base,  embossed some cream card to get a brick wall effect & added antique linen to the raised areas, the door has been done with the same card coloured with brushed corduroy, run through the embossed with a wood grain folder & then walnut added to the raised parts.

I cut out a window and added "glass" it's actually the backing from some stickers. A LaBlanche tree is in the background.

The wreath is a ring of thin card, juniper sprigs cut with the festive greenery, poinsettias cut from tattered flower garland, tiny yellow seed beads have been used to create the centres. A piece of tartan ribbon to finish, i am in Scotland after all!

A circle stamped with a greeting & the edge stamped using a pine twig stamp and the final card is done.

What fun I've had playing along with Linda's challenge this year, the upside of not having sloped off to the alps for the winter. I hope she'll forgive the almost identical copy....mine is nowhere as good!

Icy

It's time for me to post my latest card for the challenge sponsored by http://www.thefunkiejunkie.com/

I can't believe the challenge is almost over, it's the first year that I've managed to participate thanks to the fact that we've not flown the coop to spend the winter in our little chalet in the mountains!

This is Linda's tag to inspire us which I love and as ever I've gone & done my own thing inspired by her snowflakes and the industrial silver look.

I rummaged around and found a piece of metal (foil dish) that was large enough to fit the folder that I planned to use. I trimmed, embossed scrubbed with a copper pan scourer and then rubbed some ink into the scratches in the metal, it's gone a lovely shade of blue/grey.
I die-cut 3 sizes of snowflake from different silver card and layered them using foam sticky pads.
The wishes has also been raised, it's been sitting in the Xmas stash box for about 3 years!
The snowflakes that are embossed around the edge of the frame have had some silvery blue slickwriter
dots added, something else that has been in the craft box for years (probably about 25!!!)

This is a close up of the metal (minus the pearl blue dots)

Only one more to go!

Yellow snow

Ahhhh! I've just realised what I've used as a title.....NEVER EAT YELLOW SNOW!

3 Mondays left & our alphabet is in it's final throes... Y for yellow this time and I've used a fabric label that I received in some Happy Mail

Over at the twinchies it's snow....
Now that it's a larger photo I can see the stamp has slipped slightly on the silver card :-(

Keep safe & wrap up warm, no panicking as Christmas looms ever closer....and I'll see you all again soon.

December tag

Once more & for the final time in 2014 I've been called on to improvise 'au max" as the French would say!

I followed Tim's instructions but as I had  none of the real ingredients it's been fun to try & come up with substitutes :-)

No sprays so it was a blue ink cartridge in a mini mister (added a little water), brushed pewter stain again in a mini mister.

2 different alphabets to die cut winter wishes (inside out & alphabetical )

Deer from reindeer flight

Snowflake stamps (rubber tapestry & freebies)

Vellum embossed with Swiss dots

Festive greenery & memory box for the foliage.

The ribbons, charm, tinsel & bell all came from my stash

On the second version I've substituted the vellum with some wrapping from a winter bouquet that has snowflakes on it, jingle bells (Jolee Boutique ?) and I have a Yuletide muse to add but I cannot lay my hands on my jump rings at the moment!!!

Poinsettia

Another card creation for the challenge across at http://www.thefunkiejunkie.com/ who are also the sponsors.

For this one Linda has used several things that I like....trellis die, holly, gold/red colour scheme

I've, as usual, improvised! That's half the fun of course :-)

A 4x4 kraft card for the base, spellbinders trellis die - I put some wide double sided tape on the back of the white card before putting it through the cuttlebug to make life easier. The foliage is from the Sizzix winter greenery & I've used some gold scraps, the poinsettias have been cut from red mirror card (scraps again) using the mini movers & shakers die - I've added gold brads for the flower centres.

Hard to get a decent photo of this one because of the reflections!

Santa

I cannot believe the first week of December is already a thing of the past! Soon it will be time for Santa to start yo-yo-ing up & down chimneys across the land & beyond and there you have the 2 clues for Mondays inchie (yo yo) and this weeks twinchie (Santa)
The yo yo has been drawn by hand.....
Santa came from a free stamp set....

I've had a busy weekend, the Xmas cards are posted, the tree is up & decorated, I've made a start on wrapping the presents ( some will be delivered next weekend to Edinburgh).
I've started my Funkie Junkie challenge - it will get finished today once we return from seeing the hip specialist. My fingers are firmly crossed that Bill will get the all clear and be able to start driving again- he takes the car in& out of the garage for me as I find it too tight a fit! And I still have to decide what to get with my Simon Says Stamp gift money as well as think about the final Tim Holtz tag of the year & maybe  even think about doing the ones from earlier in the year, but that's for another day!

See you all again soon.....

Doodle

This week across at Journal 52 Chelle wants to see doodling....

I put my tree up on Wednesday as we have visitors this evening for drinks before we all head over to the town hall for the panto (Snow White & the 7 Drawfs) and , YES, I did spell that correctly :-)

Here is my page, websters + distress paint, stain, ink.Tims Branch tree used as a stencil for the outline that I've filled with doodles, added baubles & stars, presents & borders.

Some posca white pen for the snow sitting on the branches. May add more pressies as it looks a bit bare under that tree :-)

Oh no it isn't! Oh yes it is!

I'll be back soon.....

A moo for the latest challenge

Snowmen

I got my Journal page on snowmen finished despite many Interuptions

The real ones will be sitting in the lounge in a few days time when I've done my Xmas decorating by which time I might have also gotten over the shock of being one of the worthies over at Tim Holtz's November tag challenge.
