Catching up

JOURNAL 52 treasure didn't inspire me much but I was able topics up some stickers at a farm shop on. My way from Devon.....

I've used a map (sheet of correspondence paper) paper artsy gem stamp, some gems cut from a jewellery advert....

DLP inks/whilst the ink is still wet

Some cheating on this one! I used some silk fabric paints as well as DI for the background - the larger man is a diecut, the other 2 are clear stamps, I've discovered that I need a new black archival as I could not get a decent print from either stamp :-( I had looked out my dancing in the rain stamp but it's disappeared off of my desk & I can't find it so I've added letters! It's the last day in April and we've been having April showers on & off all day.

POSITIV JOURNAL thanks

Black acrylic, gesso through a new stencil then gold paint. When the paint was almost dry I wiped it with a wet wipe to soften the effect. I then sprayed the whole page with Medici Mixed Media aqua fortis in true gold.
Diecut letters & hearts that have also been dry embossed to finish...

Don't you just love that blue elastic band! It was the only way to keep the book open to photograph as it's still too thick for my clips to hold it :-(

One more page still to catch up but that will have to wait, at lest I know what I want to use :-)

See you soon....

Rudolph

I can't believe it's the 25th again! I am heading back to Scotland tomorrow so there's been no crafting for a whole week now but I did prepare something for the occasion....I was determined to use some of the Christmas stuff from last year that had still not got properly tidied....

That's 11 less to make :-)

Time to link these to the Rudolph day challenge!

Shells

After a week in Devon I confess I never saw a shell! Saw the sea from afar & several rivers up close so the real shell photos I hoped to share are non existent.

Instead I shall offer my inchie
A set of 4 shell stamps of unknown origin....

My ATC
A freebie stamp with Craft Stamper magazine - seem to think it's a crafty individuals stamp

Octopus

Time for creatures of the deep this week at every inchie Monday

A chocolate baroque stamp, I've used shrink plastic on the inchie

And crazy colours on the ATC

Might have a job visiting you all this week as I'm away for a short break but I'll do my best!

DLP

I'm so lucky that Happy Mail arrived on Thursday - our latest challenge is Gelli Plate/ a lot on my plate.

I don't have a gelli plate & very few acrylic paints and as I'm off in the morning there's no time to experiment either :-( but luckily I've had quite a few bits of gelli printed papers sent to me in the past 12 months so inspired by a picture on Pinterest (which I now cannot find!) here's my take on this weeks challenge using all happy mail & a punch....7/8" circles!

Collage

Well hello there! I know, it's been quiet here blogging-wise.

Anyway we have a new theme at journal 52 that is collage, not really quite what I was expecting but there you go.

I don't have a lot of time to create this weekend as I'm about to head off for a week to the SW of England, my desk has had quite a lot removed from it in an attempt to make it look a little tidier :-(
so when this came up I decided I would try to do a spread using just stuff from my desktop.

Dry brushing distress paint (evergreen bough) for the background, I found some heads (Lynne Perella), paper scraps & tags and decided to create some eccentric characters!

She loved to wear her crown & huge shoulder pads at all times....
I'm afraid she has the most dreadful legs - must be a bad case of elephantitis!

...whilst he just wanted to be Boy George in a kilt

And it's bony knees and flat feet for this poor chap!

Spring

The current moo-mania challenge is signs of spring so I've gone with April showers...

The umbrella man is clear shrink plastic, Promarkers & a layer of yellow nail varnish stuck onto a crumpled ink paper scrap

Tails

Strange title I hear you say....but over at EIM we have a new theme gecko or lizard and they shed their tails hence my obscure title :-)

My inchie

And ATC

Same stamp used for both but the ATC has more of a summer feel to it :-)

See you again soon

Week end

A lovely week has given way to cooler & windy weather so I've come in from the garden & got some more journal pages done....

Journal 52: cards

I chose to use some of the lovely cards that I've received as part of my "happy mail" swaps along with some Underpaper, stamping & doodling

It was nice to be able to use these delightful cards rather than covering them with paint.

DLP continues it's  colour safari, this week it's acrylics & the prompt is "cry me a river".

2 shades of acrylic on the page, the same on a spare piece of paper which I stamped with a chocolate Baroque stamp that looks like water ripples, I added some white pen after using a shade of dark blue ink/clear EP.

April tag

A new month with more goodies released by Tim.....needless to say they have not yet hit the high streets in the uk yet as far as the new colour of ink goes :-( my wish list got longer by 4 colours already this year!!!

Here is our inspiration tag for this month

And as per usual I have....the watercolour paper & kraft paper are the only items so I'm in full improvisation mode!

I've followed the instructions as best as....using a paintbrush for splatters, felt pens for markers as I only have dried marigold & chipped sapphire, a punch & a gem, hand stitching using a variegated machine thread which has also been used along with a Caron thread for the tag top.

The thread shows up well on the reverse!

So now I'm fancying a version on kraft paper.....

Page updates

Easter brought us wonderful weather! The thermometer hit 21C which led to a BBQ yesterday lunchtime, the first of the year :-) then today it was time to get out the lawnmower & give the 2 lawns their first cut of the year.

In between being out at a concert on Friday evening of Hotel California (eagles tribute band) & a trip to the cardiologist last night I managed to put together the necessary journal pages...
J52: sweet treats

M&S mail envelope.

DLP
A new month & a new theme colour safari
Challenge: watercolours & prompt: it's water under the bridge

I don't really do watercolours, I have a few tubes that have been lurking in a dark corner since my C&G days (88/89). A children's paint box & watercolour pencils
Yes, that is meant to be a bridge with iron railings over a stream & a weeping willow!

POSITIV journal is all about filling the white space with zentangle

I even managed to make a start on my tag for the Tim Holtz challenge/April ....watch this space for more coming soon!

Easter

Well....this weeks title has absolutely nothing to do with inchies despite it being Monday!

The latest theme is knitting & here is what I came up with....

A knitting sample from a magazine

And gor my ATC I've used some free stamps on kraft paper & some with ink
Enjoy what's left of the Easter break...

Frame

I decided that I needed to scratch my itch the other day!  I got out mowed lawn, bundled sage & pine needle, some watercolour paper, washer border die, ornate frame & set to.

Swiped the mowed lawn across a gessoed page & started stencilling....

Smooshed the colours on a sheet of paper + some stencilling for my die cutting...

Inked the edges in black soot.....

Stuck thinks down, added some glossy accents to some of the die-cut remnants....
