I've been putting off doing this page!

I knew what I wanted to do but was unsure about being ready to do it - today I decided it was a case of "pulling up my big girl panties" and getting on with things.

Whilst in France with my dad, a very beautiful bouquet arrived from friends of theirs from their time in Ras Al Khaimah (near Abu Dhabi) I confess that I acquired the cellophane that was around this lovely bouquet of cream roses & mauve freesias as I thought I might be able to put it to good use.

I have used the cellophane as the background page and the small flowers have been coloured with an ivory Promarker - I've added small mauve pearl for the centres. The photo is one of my favourites of mum, my father took it many many moons ago when we lived in Libya so mum would have been in her mid 30s at the time.
One of the girls taking part in the Documented life project has created a download of hearts on a book page and these seemed perfect for me to use for the GRATITUDE title.

  1. Hi There Sally, This is a beautiful page about your Mum, I love her photo she looks amazing! I'm so glad you shared this and I can imagine how hard it was to make. How interesting it must have been living in Libya TFS :D Gay x

  2. A wonderful, heartfelt page Sally, you will always have the memories, which mean so much to you.
    hugs Yvonne xx

  3. Such a gorgeous tribute to your mum, I am sure she would have loved it too. TFS xxx

  4. A wonderful tribute to your mum - it's delicate and thoughtful, and she looks beautiful at the centre of it. What a wonderful touch to use the cellophane, and echo the flowers it held.
    Alison xx

  5. Hi Sally, Thank you for your lovely comments :D I hope you are doing okay, I've been thinking about you. My Mum passed away many years ago now but not a week goes by when I don't want to pick up the phone and have a chat. Mums are very special people, hugs Gay x
