Stencils & leaves

Journal52 is calling for us to use stencils this week so after a little digging around through the pile of "under papers" I found a piece that has about 6 different ones scattered across the surface...nice to be able to use some "stuff"! There is swirls in pink, hexagons in 2 sizes brown, trellis in shaded lilac, fragments in fired brick (hard to spot), small circles in orange. The art is... Inked in black soot is also a stencil.

A doodled border with some white uniball highlights & circles frame the quote but I feel I still need to add a little more around the edge but will have to wait for another day.

DLP wants leaves and somewhere....somewhere quite safe....so safe that I cannot remember where it can be....I have some beautiful leaves that an Australian artist friend has sent me over the years. She paints on these local leaves and then stamps onto silk fabric....gorgeous! Anyway, I digress. I did not find them :-( but I will.

I did manage to use up a small pile of stuff that was sitting on my desk (yay!) and produced 4 pages, 2 full size & 2 "flip-in"

A piece of patchwork style leaves paper for the background, a page from a bible printed in Pashtun - love the calligraphy of it, and assorted leaves that have been stuck down and then outlined with a charcoal pencil (2 die cut leaves & the rest are stamped & fussy cut).
The tipin page is DI spritzed with water and then mopped with a wipe giving a ghosting effect. I've stamped assorted small leaf clusters around the outer part of the page, a frame (harvest season berries & grasses) a die cut leaf (mop-up) & a free stamp/border on the lower part of the page. The leaves have been coloured with derwent watercolour pencils & inktense pencils.

The reverse of the tipin has a doodled diecut border, a play with a new stencil that reminded me that I have a load of skeleton leaves so I dug them out & added an assortment of colours & 3 stickers I inked/stamped a few months ago.

The reverse of the main page has more skeleton leaves, unfortunately the glossy accents has leached some of the colour out of the 2 darker pink ones so I now have visible dots :-(. The other leaves on the page are stickers that I bought in Boston the year we first went over to visit the family after our granddaughter was born, I've almost used them all up now- just a few still left on the backing sheet.

I filled the void doodling with a gold & 2 shades of copper rollerball pens.
