CASology 21: TIME

Tick tock, tick tock, 26 sleeps to Christmas! Where has this year gone?

A little something on the "time" front.... A simple card where I have embossed the front panel using a Tim Holtz embossing folder added a thin gold ribbon along the edge of the join and then added a gold ink & embossing powder clock face (also TH). I have made this as a timely reminder for a girlfriend that she will be joining the "50 & overs" in a few short weeks :-).

She is going to hate me!!!

Champagne time

A new life & a new name for a friend! A simple wedding card using a freebie stamp & some gold ribbon on a white card. Congratulations to the bride & groom :-)

Hope all my followers are keeping safe in all this dreadful weather, I feel so sorry for these poor people flooded out of their homes.

Happy birthday

A quick post to share a card made for a dog-loving relatives birthday. Paper from stash, the stamp was given to me by a friend on Skye, the colouring was done with distress inks. This made a change from the Christmas makes of recent days & I have a wedding card to make too!

Happy crafting week-end

We three kings...

TIOT challenge this week is about sparkle so I may link this depending on what else gets made this week - here I have used the 3 kings from the Tim Holtz "joyful song" sheet and some "Copper Thunder" gilding flakes on a sheet of matt black paper & added a few golden stitches in the rounded corners.

Pink #8

I decided that it really was time that I had a go at the " in the pink " challenge. This week it's punches and/or dies so here is my contribution.

Pink roses paper from my stash (make unknown) the central motif was cut from white card stock using Persian Accents which I have stamped with a freebie stamp using Colorbox ink & then coloured the rest of the motif.
The butterfly is cut from the main paper using a sissix die.

Hope it's a go for the challenge :-)

Recycle

Some of my recycled Xmas cards....

I kept things simple and used up paper bits, card off-cuts & some "toppers" that came from old cards - my little green efforts for the time of year :-)

Bethlehem

Thought I would share something that I made a good number of years ago now & that I rediscovered in a drawer last week!

It is painted silk with some stitching as well, it was done for the Embroiderers Guild Christmas card competition & I was delighted to win (local branch) and I subsequently framed it.
When we are at home for the festive period I usually get it out but we don't seem to be here very often these days.

Dribs & drabs

A creative week-end! I have managed to assemble a dozen Christmas cards for my brother ( no greeting as they go to all nationalities) a card made from oddments lying in the box of stash which won't work for the "less is more: home" challenge because it's not one layer and a topper for a birthday card made from more stuff that is left over from this months Tim's tags challenge!

So now the desk is almost clear and tomorrow I will have to get the sewing machine out to make some alterations to some covers for the car ( in an attempt to stop the dog from dribbling all over the leather seats when we go away!!!)

Less Is More: Pink

Second post of the day but it's sometimes a case of striking whilst the iron is hot as they say.

Over at Less is more the challenge is "pink" so should be simple!!! But lots of procrastinating was more the order of the day- I got there in the end & here is my contribution.

Try It On Tuesday memories

Ah! Memories... We all have those but some people have better ones than others and seeing as how I am often told that I have a memory like an elephant I decided to put a twist on the subject!

A cute little elephant stamp that came with Creative Crafting that has been coloured in with Promarkers & the edges have had distress inks applied.

I think this little chap has got lots of lovely happy memories and I hope he makes you all smile despite not being of the "vintage memories" variety (I like to be different/unpredictable).

Happy crafting over the week-end everyone.

CAS-ology 18: orange

I feel like I have been dithering on this one for days but maybe that's because I've not been sleeping well :-(

Anyhow, after a shuffle through the bit boxes (yes I still have quite a few of those despite my sort out!) here is what I decided to go with:

A quarto size card (that sounds fancy I hear you say) a piece of orange card with gold spots that came from the stash box- it was part of a card received years ago & a square design that I stamped in orange, clear embossed & added a little more orange colouring to (Promarkers in mandarin & honeycomb.

I hope there's enough white still in there to qualify!

Inky

I decided that as I had enjoyed making my most recent "12 days tag" I would get inky again....

So a few days ago I got out versamark, distress inks in tumbled glass, broken china, weathered wood, iced spruce & evergreen bough & proceeded to smoosh colour about!

Some overstamping went on too in Big n Juicy hydrangea as well as some archival black....

I added home-made Frantage to the snowman, some juniper & holly sprigs, branches, pine cone & holly berries.

To the snowflakes I added the letters SNOW, some silver embossing to the edges, pleated rosette & 2 snowflakes.

The Christmas tree has 2 mistletoe sprigs with pearl berries, juniper sprigs & twigs with a large brad, silver embossing at the edges & a blue snowflake.

All set to mount these onto Christmas card blanks now. :-)

I had some nice inky (& gluey) fun!

12 tags of 2012 November

At last! was my cry on seeing Tim's latest tag challenge - for once I can actually say that I had most of the ingredients (big smug smile).

So I have followed his instructions, my only difference on the base tag was that I used all distress inks & no stains for the simple reason that I currently only have black & white.

I had some "ribbon" in the right colours left over from another project that I have used, it is actually a type of gauze bandage! Takes inks beautifully.
Then as I had no muse tokens I decided to use an Indian corn button that I have attached to the tag with some green wire - I also used a piece of maroon velvet instead of hessian.

So all in all THANKFUL is very apt this month.

Hope you enjoy this months contribution.
