Final decision

Well, after messing about.... The little DoCrafts freebie of a skunk who reminds me of Fleur in Bambi,  got the final thumbs up! This is the entry for CASology 46 :-)

Carried away with fur

I am still not sure quite what came over me but CASology 46 is FURRY

So I had myself a rummage through my stamps....Hmmmm, there are quite a few "furry" ones in the drawer! And as I seemed unable to make a decision I stamped them all ( no, not ALL, just quite a few)

The funny thing is, all of the stamps have been "freebies". I stamped, coloured, still could not make up my mind....they are all ATC sized and will probably end up as card toppers! So here they in no particular order-all 13 of them! some I like more than others but once they are "accessorised" I might like them even more :-)

I think I will enter this one for the challenge!!!!

Twinchie time

One of my blog friends, Julia, has joined in a twinchie challenge and, as it looked like fun, I thought I would join her!

I just happened to have a couple of pieces of paper that had been coloured for other projects that seemed to fit with the stamp I wanted to use. One is shades of green & blue distress inks whilst the other is a piece that had been stencilled , crumbled & inked then ironed...

So out came the stamp, one that came with Craft Stamper (back in August 2005!) I have stamped with black pigment ink & clear embossed in both cases.

The green one has had some soft green & denim blue Promarkers added to the fish & the borders, then a little iridescent glitter to give some sheen to the scales of the fish.
The blueish mauve one has had Lavender  & pastel green Promarkers used on the borders, the water has some pastel blue & pastel green bands and the fish has been coloured in bluebell & blossom.  Again I have added some glitter for the scales but the aqua really seemed too strong so I have actually scrubbed quite a lot of it off..

I shall mount these onto some small square cards to nake notelets.

I am going to enter the green one for the challenge :-)

Red white & blue at CAS-ual Fridays

cas-ual Fridays challenge cfc102 is all about red, white & blue this week & I confess that I spent most of yesterday trying to do something... You'd think that would be simple but oh no! The various attempts were all failures :-(

I did manage to save bits & have ended up with 3 ATCs but they won't fit the description. So I've just had another go & have ended up with a birthday card for my nephew that I am reasonably happy with:-l

The chevron strip & word came from a set of stamps that came with a magazine and the present is Anita's Art it normally has a frame around it but I have cut it out so leaving just the present that has been coloured with distress marker (blue) & whispers strokes (red).

He's 14 this year!

Moo mania challenge:HOME

Welcome to my new followers, I hope you enjoy the creations that appear on here :-)

I had so much fun making MOOs  the other day that when I saw the latest one I decided that I needed to join in again!

Here are some of the photos of my "concertina"ed village!

This is it all folded up...

The reverse side has some strips of our "local" Michelin map (France)

The whole thing seen from the front...

And details of the panels...

1&2

3&4

5&6...

& finally 7

The houses are all Paper Artsy stamps, they were stamped & clear embossed, coloured with Promarkers, the cloud was a freebie stamp & the tyre tread (road) was too.. The little birds have been added with a Pitt pen, the sky has been coloured using several distress inks (tumbled glass, broken china & stormy skies)

After this little adventure...I decided I just had to make 1 more....

Promarkers for colouring the grass, sky & base/pole and some paper piecing for the bird & birdhouse.

What fun I had making these :-)

CAS Royal

Time for another ATC and its one that I can link to the current CAS challenge royal.
http://addictedtocas.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/atcas-13-birthday.html

Some purple stitched paper (the royal colour) and a stamp from the Paper Artsy Lynne Perella 003 plate which is a lovely crown. It's been stamped & embossed in gold on a die cut lacy oval.

and then because I could I made another one that is slightly different in that I have used a plain oval mounted on a very textured lavender square that is layered onto the same stitched purple paper with a couple of mini brads as well.

TIOT on the wild side

I thought that I would try something different for me when it came to this challenge.... A preprinted image! I just thought that this little hedgehog was a cutie even if he is really a wild child at heart :-)

I have coloured him with Promarkers, used a Nestabilities set of dies to cut the image & mount layer and the whole has been mounted on some paper (freebie)- the flower is made with many layers of distress ink coloured pages from a flower book that have been cut using the tattered garland die.
I've also given him a little bowtie that was in my latest stash purchase (TKMAXX)

The image is a freebie (Daisy & Dandelion) from Simply Cards & Papercraft

Here's hoping that the TIOT crowd give him the thumbs up :-)

ATCAS 13

Birthday
is this weeks challenge over at Addicted to clean and simple so here is my submission... A Quarto sized card, a paint chip in Hydrangea blue that I picked up on a previous visit to the USA and the stamp is from Anita's Art, I coloured the image with Promarkers and added just the slightest hint of iridescent glitter the the air around the candle flames. The greeting is stamped in archival black & is of unknown origin!

And here is a close up

Just a moo...

Whilst blog hopping yesterday I came across a challenge site that looked like a little fun...MOOs!

Not something I have ever tried but I just happened to have some small stamps on the subject lying in the drawer right under my nose so it seemed like an omen.

HELLO is a ladybird stamp that came free last year with Papercraft Inspirations, they've been coloured with a felt pen, the background is diluted felts (2shades of green) that I've watercoloured onto the paper & then added some texture using an itty bitty stamp from the Kanban autumn trees collection- added the tracks & hello with a black sharpie

ENJOY LIFE has been made with stamps from the same free set, coloured with Promarkers  & the words stamped on are from Penny Black.

I am going to enter the ladybirds for the moo challenge, here's hoping my first Moo gets lucky!

Puppies

2 ATCs are required & there's a Cats & Dogs challenge over at LESS IS MORE.

So after a quick rummage through my stamps here is what I came up with.

The LIM one is an inkadinkadoo stamp on a nestabilities diecut (lacy ovals) using a pigment ink from Lakeland @ the background is a piece of the packaging from my Kindle!

The second is an Adam Pescott stamp that I've coloured with promarkers & some distress inks.  The oval diecut was from stash as is the purple pearlescent card I've mounted it on.

All set for a quiet evening in front of the TV now.

Ancient Egypt

A little item I made a few years ago now after attending a wonderful course on stumpwork with delightful tutors Roy & Barbara Hirst (sadly no longer with us).

I actually made 2 heads, this is 1 of them.

I was lucky enough to find some tissue paper that was covered in Egyptian patterns, I have used Tito cover the mount. The background is painted calico, the headress is buttonholed wire that has been couched onto the background, a small piece of gold leather lies in the base of it (paper punch) and small feather stitches fill the rest of the space.
The face is painted calico that has been stuffed with a small amount of toy filling & the "hair" is satin stitch. The neck decoration is tiny beads.

Here is a slightly closer view.

I wish I had the same eyesight now to do more of this kind of thing :-)

Because I could!

It poured with rain yesterday so I decided to have a play with some of my goodies :-)

I coloured a tag that I had embossed using the french script folder using salty ocean then added walnut ink to the raised parts & edges.

On a separate piece of turquoise paper I stamped the tim Holtz butterflies & moths in walnut ink & clear embossed, then overstamped with the french script in salty ocean.

Having mounted this piece onto the tag, I wrapped the whole thing with some  brown & turquoise machine embroidery threads. I then added sequins, a butterfly & ribbon rosette from my new stash and added threads as a tie at the top as well as adding some gathered lace along the bottom.

And then I decided to use the other French folder Eiffel tower....

Again, I embossed a tag, added some colour, mowed lawn, squeezed lemonade & broken china.

I embossed a piece of dark gray card for the Eiffel tower, cut it out & mounted on some foam pads onto the tag. Did the same with a piece of gold card for the fleur de lys and mounted with. Ore foam pads. The words are stamped onto some card coloured with Mowed Lawn & stamped with archivall black. (clear choice stamps)
I finished off with some yellow ribbon tied with green embroidery floss.

These are not my usual colours at all but felt I wanted to try something different...because I could :-)

Hope you like them.

Stash

Did ok yesterday!

I went out with this clip in my hair

Popped into TKMAXX & found a bargain :-)

3 packs of flower sequins
10m of assorted ribbon/braid
12 butterflies
18 bows
18 ribbon rosettes
All for the glorious sum of £3.99 instead of £11 & £2.99 instead of ???

Also gave in to temptation & got myself the "Eiffel tower" & "French script" embossing folders as I was going past Hobbycraft. Happy days!!!

Bloom

Well I must be on a roll as this is my second post today & not due to the sunshine as it has disappeared again!

A little card I am entering at CASology 44

It's a 4" square card with "bloom" quote from Anita's art stamped in green and a free stamp of the " Glasgow Rose" that came with Vraft Stamper back in November 2003! It's hardly been used for some reason.  Just coloured up with promarkers & mounted on the card.

I need a birthday card next week so there we have it, I'll just add a greeting inside.

Spring

No, not here! I wish it was... I decided that I needed something springlike on my mobile in the corner above my desk so this is my offering....

A tag that has been stamped with a Michael Powell design ( crooked cottage) in archival black ink & the colouring is a mix of promarkers & distress inks - mainly inks though.

The flowers are diecut tattered garland out of book pages that have been coloured with inks, the flowers are between 8 & 18 layers held together with a brad.

The butterfly is cut with a free die from a scrap of paper & I've used a safety pin & some copper beads for the body.
I've also got an organza ribbon up the right side & the top tie (coloured with DI)
both came from my stash... Feeling springlike now & the sun has even come out!

Wednesday 15 May 2013

1 year already

I wish the sun was shining - it's been a year since I started blogging & the sun has not even had the decency to show up to help celebrate :-(

So here is a little "post" that I made using a Darkroom Door freebie stamp, some distress inks, promarkers & Chocolate Baroque crackle stamp...

Tuesday 14 May 2013

It's raining!

Not possible to work in the garden today as its pouring with rain! I've spent the last 2 afternoons assembling "recycled" religious Christmas cards for Auntie Pam, after all, what do you give an 89 year old for her birthday ! 70 cards that she can send to her pals this year!!! So I have been stamping off the greeting "en masse"

Then I remembered that I needed to try dying some lace... My new jeans are a little short so I thought I'd add a strip of lace! Quite pleased with the resulting colour as I used permanent black Quink on ecru lace :-)

More stash recycling

Some carrots (Nit Wits) not used in my Easter bunny tag that have been applied to a rescued background

a freebie stamp coloured with Promarkers on a salvaged background
that has been over stamped with another freebie stamp :-)

Anita's Art stamp that I seem to recall was part of a subscription offer years ago that has been coloured with Promarkers
