Maroon sunshine

I realise that does not make an awful lot of sense....it's Mondays inchie & Tuesdays twinchie titles!

Maroon....the colour connection seemed far too obvious so I'm maroonED on a desert island!

In the sunshine...

I hope there is some shining on you wherever you are 'cos it's not here.....

Journaling time

Well, I've had a productive weekend thanks to the rubbish grey & cold summer weather that we are currently continuing to experience here in the north east of Scotland.

I've got my DLP use a crossword / sudoku / word search and have even managed to produce some "found poetry" at the same time!
"Do you remember when art was total entertainment"

I had a lot of fun doing this one! I had to do something on the back as the black pending used to outline bled through....
I added a rejected TH June tag piece, some borders and some fake hinges (paper artsy)

Then I moved onto the JOURNAL52 page under the sea
I recently found some marbled papers that I did YEARS ago whilst doing my C&G creative embroidery and they were just the thing for stamping my sea horses onto (L Inkadinkadoo, S Heritage)
The dolphins are off a birthday card from a few years back, the foam fish came out of the grand children's craft box, the seashell sequins might have come from John Lewis and the fish is a freebie Craft Stamper stamp that's done on a mop up with a little extra colour for the seaweed, borders, head & tail and I've added some frosted "micro" type beads to the main body

That's the journaling up to date this week and I'm tempted to see if I can find a nice mermaid to add to the mix. I wonder what I can find on Pinterest???

Busy

Well, it's been busy in our house this week & it's still only Wednesday :-)

I finally got around to assembling all the necessary bits and have made up my Christmas recycled cards, I usually do this for mum/dad & my brother as they have difficulty getting cards in France & those that are available are quite expensive.
Knowing their taste, I usually save those cards that are suitable and cut/mount/supplement as necessary....

I've put 65 together this year! Why now? Well, I shall be heading over to visit in a couple of weeks and am therefore going to deliver.....

I think I ought to link up with Rudolph Day this month!

Maid

Monday again! Where did the past week go I hear everyone cry (myself included)...

It's Wimbledon fortnight & the weather here is rubbish as usual! I'm glad I'm getting away to France again - at least that should guarantee some sunshine :-)

Anyhow, the maid in my title is the clue to this weeks inchie Monday challenge. I was sorting through the bags & boxes & poles of ephemera/stuff/never know when it might be useful or not over the weekend and I found a Christmas card with the 12 days on it. All of a sudden my inchie situation was solved :-) and I have even got the next 2 made as well as a couple of the twinchies....

MAID

MEMORIES

This one has been done with a freebie stamp curtesy of Craft Stamper.

I'm off to watch Andy Murray now.....

Bits n pieces

I've got stuck with this one!

I made my DLP hearts page with the wax crayon experiments from the other day....

My computer is only giving me a blank screen so I'll be off to John Lewis tomorrow to see if they have any bright ideas....otherwise it's the man from down the road!
Thank goodness for the iPad :-)

Monday

A new week, a new theme and some catchups....

Lavender is the latest Every Inchie Monday challenge...

This is actually a cut down image off the back of a card I received a few years ago, I saved it because I really like it and it reminds me of the Plateau de Valensole lavender fields in Provence not too far from where I spend the winter, also close to the OCCITANE factory in Manosque!

And here are killer & khaki that we're missing from the set!
The archer is a Fiskars stamp & the background is part of a Paper Artsy stamp

The delay on this one was due to the fact that I'd mislaid the camouflage paper...the heart is a brad and the plain khaki piece is a die cut (spellbinders)

June tag

Some playtime over the past couple of days so I finished putting my 12 tags of 2014 "June" tag together....

As usual I'd have to improvise but feel it's OK to do that so here's my take on the theme

The tag is edged with ripe persimmon & vintage photo
I used salty ocean, picked raspberries, squeezed lemonade, ripe persimmon, faded jeans with the stencil & edges are coloured with spiced marmalade & vintage photo
I've coloured paper raffia with squeezed lemonade, salty ocean, picked raspberry & ripe persimmon .
The cogs are an assortment of die cuts & metal cogs from my stash

Gratitude

I've been putting off doing this page!

I knew what I wanted to do but was unsure about being ready to do it - today I decided it was a case of "pulling up my big girl panties" and getting on with things.

Whilst in France with my dad, a very beautiful bouquet arrived from friends of theirs from their time in Ras Al Khaimah (near Abu Dhabi) I confess that I acquired the cellophane that was around this lovely bouquet of cream roses & mauve freesias as I thought I might be able to put it to good use.

I have used the cellophane as the background page and the small flowers have been coloured with an ivory Promarker - I've added small mauve pearl for the centres. The photo is one of my favourites of mum, my father took it many many moons ago when we lived in Libya so mum would have been in her mid 30s at the time.
One of the girls taking part in the Documented life project has created a download of hearts on a book page and these seemed perfect for me to use for the GRATITUDE title.

DLP week 24

This week we need to use book pages.... I decided that I would use some of my recent happy mail for it.

A flower book page (Swedish) to which I added a mis-punched notebook page. I stamped an Elusice Image Iris plate onto it add have added a little charcoal pencil to the image.

The flower is a tattered florals one using a layer of black, white coloured with picked raspberries, Russian printed paper coloured with dusty concord and a final layer from the tattered garland die. All the layers are held together with a button brad.

Inchie, twinchie & moo

Inchie theme across at every inchie Monday is legal
Moo Mania is feathers
So here are this weeks entries...
Clear Choice stamps wine glass with some handwriting and a freebie feather (Emily Hilton) from craft stamper. Both have been stamped on mop-ups!

The twinchie challenge theme is birthday and I've again used a craft stamper  freebie from way back in June 2001! Good grief but I've been getting that magazine a long time.
This was the year that we were to celebrate my dads 80th (May 12th) and then Mum's 85th & Auntie Pam's 90th in June. Sadly neither of the Pams will see their birthdays :-(

Whilst I'm on here I will also share my recent journal 52 pages for Mandala & Travel
