Playing

Paper Artsy mn28 has been stamped all over the gessoed page, Crafters Workshop numbers stencil was then laid over the top & homemade texture paste scraped over the whole page, once dry I repositioned the stencil & coloured with worn lipstick distress paint and then again, once dry, with Goldfinger in copper, more drying time....and then buffed.

The black numbers are die-cut (stacked artful words by TH) I stamped out the separate words AGE IS JUST A NUMBER AND MINE IS UNLISTED, once I'd glued them down I gave them a shadow line with a grey marker.

Talk

Just talk about this & that and before you know where you are it's Monday again.....with a new challenge for every inchie Monday so here is my share for this week along with the ATC of the same....cannot believe it's the last one for January!

Alcohol ink background

Gelli plate background sent by a friend, the phone stamp is a Craft Stamper freebie.

And I've also decided that as I am currently still in the uk with all my craft stuff I should also take the opportunity to join in with the Rudolph Day challenge, I bought myself some dies in the Sizzix sale the other week and it seemed like an opportune time to play.......

Tree stamp & matching die....Inkadinkadoo stamp (NOEL) on a white 4x6 blank

Same tree stamp/die, greeting is a free stamp, some washi tape on a 4x4 kraft blank.

So there we have it, 2 cards towards next Christmas! I wonder how long my good intentions will last!

Hope that you all have a good week, I'll be back soon.....

DLP

Facing the blank page - theme: writing prompt: words with friends

This I have chosen to interpret in the loosest sense.....

A page of my words and a page of a friends diary from last year that tells the story.

Distress paints applied with fingers, acrylic paint circles on book paper.

Very loose handwriting on my behalf.....

Thank you Jenny for providing, unwittingly, just what I needed for this weeks challenge and also for being there when needed!

Pages

I've been a bit slack about posting some of the random pages that I've made so I thought I'd do a little catch up & then I can remove the pictures from the iPad!

This one is pieces of a Japanese newspaper + gesso, acrylic paint circles and some journaling.

This time last year Bill was lying in a hospital bed and my parents came to visit me in the chalet for the weekend - it was the last time I saw my mum alive & I treasure the memory of knowing that she actually knew who I was for part of those few days. It was wonderful to see her laughing & relaxing.

Another one using a stencil for the background, & writing. Just the never is done with stamps.

And then it's Journal 52: silhouettes

I had some fun with acrylics, Tim Holtz dies, Indigo Blu stamps, sharpie & gelly roll white pens.

Nelly the elephant that is! It's Monday so that means it's inchie time and the prompt for this week is elephant and I've got 2 to share this week.....

This little cutie was hiding in a magazine....
And this one is a little plastic button....

And then, as my ATC stock was running a little low, I decided I would try to pair up an ATC to the inchies from this year so here they are:

Egg

Giraffe

Elephant

Hope you all had a good weekend and are ready for the busy days until the next one!

Wall or is it Woll

Journal 52 time again...our prompt is "conversation starter"

The page tells the story of a very silly conversation full of confusion :-) thanks to Jenny I had my idea.

Some brush strokes of paint (kids paintbox!) some stencilling with a Balzer bits grid stencil.
Feathers stamped in archival, sequin waste stencilling. Embossed card scraps that have been coloured with frayed burlap DI. I've added a touch of white Posca pen to the sequin waste stencilling....

The DLP challenge is going to be harder to get to grips with though so I'll be going to bed with my thinking cap on!

Have a good Sunday....

Busy journal

DLP released the new prompt on Saturday use gesso & the theme "the beginning is always today"

My pages were already gesso-ed so I smeared some acrylics that I had rediscovered onto them. I'm still not a great fan of this form of paint for some reason but one of my plans for this year was to try and use up some of the art supplies that have rarely seen daylight, these particular paints came from a friend who was clearing out some cupboards.

After the paint was dry I added some stencilling using sequin waste & distress ink, feeling far more comfortable all of a sudden :-) with products that I usually use.

I stamped a border and a journaling tag with some Paper Artsy stamps (swirls & curls 1&2) and added a little doodling with white gelly roll pen. The flowers are an assortment of stamps (chocolate baroque, ??) that have been stamped onto papers that I'd painted with silk paints.

The future comes one day at a time is also from Paper Artsy, One step.... Was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest.

And then I turned my thoughts to the new promp from POSITIV>>-+->JOURNAL
Release your creative inner child.

I had quite a lot of ideas for this one, as I lay in bed tossing & turning for a couple of hours whilst listening to someone snore rather loudly I managed to work out where I wanted to take the subject.
Eventually I moved to the spare bedroom and managed some sleep and the ideas had moved on a little further by the time I sat down to tackle them.

My page had already got the tissue wrap remnants glued down but for some reason I'd given the page a yellow wash! I must have been dreaming of sunshine at the time....

I did a diluted gesso wash, dried it and then added another, thicker, layer across the middle of the pages.

Once that was dry I stamped a row of children (craft Stamper freebie  may 2004) the sky got some Promarker & inktense, the same for the grass. The kids & crayons are coloured using Promarkers .

Under them I've added the names of friends from my childhood in Libya & France, there was a lot of sunshine around in my life growing up so the yellow tinge (!) mirrors the feelings I still have of those early days. My paper aeroplanes, well Dad was in the air traffic control tower & it was his job that led us to travel to all that sunshine. I could do with some right now.....it's snowing outside & I've got to go walk the dog :-(

Inch

Inch by inch we shall advance into 2015.... This week the prompt at EIM is giraffe

I've used a scrap that has been lurking for a while now, I'd save the paper for something that was on the other side and this skinny necked fellow got rescued from the debris :-)

Happy Monday

Just be....

Journal 52 challenge time....just be is the prompt.

I've used under paper for the 2 backgrounds, on the left hand page I have used different alphabet stamps to spell out in the chaos / &, keep calm is from a Hobbycraft stamp, BE are glittery stickers from my stash. I've used some washi tape (ruler, it was a freebie), the corner stamp & domestic goddess are stamps from the latest issue of Creative Stamping the chevron stamp...?.

The opposite page has some shorts that I cut from some wrapping paper, they are blowing in the breeze & firmly help to the line with wooden pegs (free stamp!) - the sundae & burger as well as the bottom corner stamp came with the goddess, part of the fabulous fifties set, this page also has some washi tape (stripes & bicycle) that came from Hobbycraft.

I wear an apron in the kitchen but I would never pretend that I look this glamorous! I do, however, have a lot of fun in there!

January tag

January tag time with Tim Holtz...

Well, I goofed! As I was finger painting the tag for this months tag I realised that I'd stuck my homemade tissue wrap on upside down!!!!
I figured that by the time the paint was on  with chitchat & numbers etc, there would not be too much visible so maybe I could get away with it....

Here is the painted tag: evergreen bough, broken china & picket fence  distress paint then I added some tarnished brass & vintage photo distress stain that I flicked on with a paintbrush & then spritzed & dried.

As I  wanted a little more gold so I've rubbed some Goldfinger sovereign gold wax onto all the crinkles...

I have chit chat but none of the other embellishments so, as usual, it was on with the thinking cap & out with the bits & bobs box to see what was useable....

I've followed the instructions this month apart from the Krylon pen for the remaining steps - I used Medici Mixed Media Aqua fortis in true gold, I sprayed & also dripped.

The letters are die cut using Alphabetical that I coloured with a gold Sharpie and the glitter 5 is a pinkpaislee glitter number from some winnings last winter.

I used a touch of walnut ink around the tag edges, added some knitted old gold yarn and I'm calling the job done...

I'll link up and go check out the other posts for this months tag now so see you all again soon.

Egg

It's the first Monday in 2015 and we have a whole new set of words to create with....

What could be more fun than starting with an EGG! It's the start of life & also a brilliant breakfast to start the day....

Here are mine....yes, more than 1, I went for 2 as the second reminds me of our next school break!

This one is stamped

Whilst this one is part of a rescued & recycled Easter card border.

Now go eat an egg for your breakfast like good kiddies!
