End of June already

Mid summer came & went in the rain and we are still waiting for decent weather that will last for more than a few hours at a time.

Bill & I managed an away night to Aviemore and the weather was kind....it only rained 3 times....once during the night, once whilst we visited the Highland wildlife park and that was only light rain for 5" but the 3rd time was an absolute deluge....fortunately for us we were in the car at the time because the rain came down in stair rods! It was a lovely time of year to visit the animal park as the babies were in evidence...

All quite delightful :-)

I was a little slow off the mark with my creating this weekend however as the dog has had an upset stomach....

Colour me positive: celebration/ what you are grateful for...

My very first road trip way back in 1965....the first of many!

Art Prompts Galore:
Scavenger: 3 scraps, junk mail, purple but not ink or paint, flower, bird, doily, napkin, texture.

A moose, a stag's head, floral bouquet are all scraps, purple appears in the ATC background & punched flowers (thank you Pam Harrison)- the washi tape scrap - the floral bouquet & the die cut bird that's been coloured with wax crayons! The doily is there providing some texture along with the yellow piece with the diamond die cuts in it.

Journal 52: red handed or barefoot

I always relish the weather warming up so I can give up socks and shoes as I spent so much of my childhood in flip flops!

My feet on the lawn :-)

DLP PAC: incorporate watercolours

Every inchie Monday : physics

Was not overly inspired this week :-(

New themes

Journal 52: summer solstice (+ bonus use a sun) or wine

It's been awfully hard to feel summery around our neck of the woods of late....someone fotgot to turn the rain tap off! So despite the stone circles that we have in this part of the world that always seem to attract the new age Druids at this time of the year I decided that I just had to go with wine.

A light wash of shabby shutter DI, some stencilled red wine stains (seedless preserve & festive berries mix), inkadinkadoo grape varieties stamp (dusty concord & bundled sage)
I added a bunch of grapes, 2 champagne flutes & some inked tissue paper vine leaves from my stash which, by the way, never seems to get any smaller!!!! I added a quote to a sticker that I coloured with shabby shutter.

A little close-up...

Art prompts galore
I managed all the elements this week!

Yellow, watercolour paint, stripes, circle, stickers, stars, rubber stamping, animal.
The stickers and the kitten card came from the non diminishing stash pile, the assorted stars, quote & "meow" are all stamped.

Colour me positive is be enough

I had a background prepped and I raised my stash! The long hair is me though mine is not this long and never has been, the French maid....well, let's just say that housework comes after crafting in the dictionary but I am fluent in french, the lady at the bottom of the page is from a Thierry Mügler ad for Angel perfume and her hair is more like mine, the girl top right is in fact from my hairdresser appointment card....he tries to get my hair straight, the girl in the swimsuit...reminds me of the summer lifestyle we lived in the Middle East and Marilyn....likes to have a fun time and so do I ! The quote is one I like to think reflects the old me & the more recent me lol.

Positiv journal
in May was about texture

I took a long time to get started because I was blank! Eventually used a piece of card done ages ago with home made texture paste, spray inks & gilding wax + Sizzix butterflies

June is in the process of getting done!

DLP is PAC: use tissue paper & list 10 overused words

Acrylic paints, distress inks, tissue paper PAC, velum flowers (yes, they were in my stash!) & sticker letters/numbers (more stash) and if you are all wondering about mang-mush....that would be our nickname for Bailey the golden retriever - he drools....A LOT!

Monday is a new week of inchies and this week is party....done with a Craft Stamper free stamp on shrink plastic....

Thanks for looking & commenting....I'm off to see if I can finally do a T H tag this month....

Catching up

We made it to the south of France for my dad's funeral without any hinderance from the French air traffic controllers and all the rest of the week went to plan....this included an awful lot of clearing out, discoveries, photos, memories galore. We took a break on Sunday and went along to the local "1st Salon of the hunt" and these are some of the pictures I managed to get with my phone...

The hunters in this particular hunt group wear hunting pink and gave us a splendid display of the calls on French horns.

Some of the hounds - these are called "porcelaine"

Art prompts galore
Week starting May 27
Polka dots / scavenger: neutrals, quote, doily, something black and white, dog, flower, spray paint through stencil, something metallic, altered brand tag, blue & green.

Ive got a scrap of polka dot paper that is from my stash, the tag is from a sweatshirt that we bought in Fat Face - it came ready finished with B&W ribbon on the edge.

Week starting 3/6

A / white, lace-ric rac- seam binding or similar, image of wild animal, acrylic paint in 2 colours, texture (drywall tape, corrugated card) stripes, something from stash, medium or supply of choice.

I used a piece of white paper lace wrapped with a ribbon from my stash, a not so wild looking cheetah, stripes in the colours from the main image, a doily coloured with distress ink (medium of choice)

Song lyric/ metallic, flower, 5, starts with W, torn strips of paper, fabric scraps, shapes cut from old book paper, black, words cut from newspaper or magazine, stamping with ink using a random household object.

Ive used some leftover wrapping paper strips, part of a hydrangea blossom, a 5 of Spades, some black fabric scraps, a "metal" anti theft strip from a new item of clothing (Bill forgot to remove said strip before washing!) and finally the words outrageously funny.
