Playing

I’ve been getting inky this week...

Brusho + stencil

Distress inks / oxides on white & pearlescent white card led to this mixed media post card for an upcoming swap...

I also diecut some of the scraps....

Another alphabet postcard

And this week’s Life documented requirement was to paint in an abstract style using many layers...not a technique that I am enamoured with, I much prefer to smoosh ink lol!

I played with chalk pastels using them as watercolour paint, stencilled DI,D oxide, also added some stain over the top on part of the sheet of paper (which I discarded) .....and got stuck so I walked the dog....when I came back to the desk I realised that now I’d cut the paper in 4 & they were lying in a different direction...one could imagine that the triangles were fish! After that I raided the scraps bin & diecut some seaweed and added micro beads as bubbles (they go back to August 2005 and came as an offer with Craft Stamper magazine which has just died due to Covid 19)

See you again soon!

Gifts

No trips abroad so far this year and with our annual trip to the USA off the cards my access to gifts from abroad are severely affected. I’ve decided that my #100daysof100coins might as well come in useful and so I’ve made more cards that I will be able to give away

Life documented is full of stitching this week!

It’s still dreary here so it’s nice to have something bright on my desk!!!

See you soon.....

Yikes!

Here we are nearly the middle of August and I’ve not been blogging..... I have been creating just not shared which is dreadfully remiss of me but in my defence.... the weather has been good so I have spent a lot of time in the garden.

So here’s a glimpse of what I have been doing...

Colour me positive

Life documented

Art journal journey

Last weeks life documented

Some arts prompts galore

Used one of the #100daysof100coins on this one

I got carried away and made the month of August!

I’ve also done a couple of big birthday cards as my niece turns 18 & nephew 21 this month, both cards are similar, I just changed the colours on Tim’s to a white top

Yesterday we had a chat with my stepdaughter in the USA, she was telling us that she was trying to organise care for her stepfather but with her parents living  in Shropshire it was rather difficult. Last night we heard from my stepson in California, sadly James passed away yesterday evening. Tough times ahead for Janet and the kids as travel from the USA entails 14 day quarantine! I made a card this afternoon, I get on well with Bill’s ex and feel saddened by what has happened, she’s had a tough time dealing with his dementia which I believe was vascular.

Tough times, Aberdeen is in lockdown but out here in the ‘shire we are still reasonably good, we didn’t get affected by Tuesday flooding and we had no friends on the train that derailed outside Stonehaven which was light on passengers thanks to people working from home. Stay safe all of you!
