Inchie Monday

This week is all about Bags, so I managed to do my inchies but the project itself has only just begun!

Bag stamps on inchies mounted onto Persian Accent die cuts that will be mounted via ribbon onto tags sometime after I return from holiday....

Stash

Well, I've arrived in Maine & the weather is beautiful -
Friday we went to the Cumberland Fair (agricultural) with the grandchildren.

Saturday we were at the Lakes Area brewfest and later today it's apple picking on the agenda!

Not been anywhere near a store yet but I did finally take delivery of Simon Says & Blitsy orders:-)

Tomorrow I'm shopping!!!!

ATC

This weeks challenge at FUN WITH ATCs 97 is CAS

Here's my share

Tim Holtz embossing folder for the tan card, Craft Stamper free stamp coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noire pens.

I'll be looking at all the lovely links in blogland :-)

Autumn spot

Just managing to squeeze this in before jumping on a plane so I can join TIOT Going Dotty and CAS63 Autumn

Tim Holtz embossing folder, free Craft Stamper stamp, Promarkers & some dotty ribbon from my stash.

I'll join in again in a few weeks :-)

Leaving

.....on a jet plane! The band at the local hotel in Abu Dhabi always used to play that tune when someone was off on holiday, so with the theme across at Moo Mania being travel + I'm off on a trip tomorrow, it seemed only logical to stamp a plane in silver on an inked scrap, colour in with some white & edge with a little Peacock Feathers DI. Job done....and I'm off to finish packing my suitcase.

See you all in a few weeks :-)

Harvest

A colourful season & one of my favourites! I get to visit my grandchildren in the USA - enjoy all the beautiful colours of the season with a New England  fall and,as an added bonus, here are all the fabulous craft stores to go browsing in because we crafters never ever NEED more stash!

Anyway, waffle over, here's a tag to share with you - my current favourite pumpkin that I've stamped, coloured & fussy cut.

I started with a corrugated piece of cardboard that's had a light brushing with gesso, some strips of double sided tape to which I've added an assortment of leaves that have been punched or die cut from paper scraps & paint chips. I stamped & coloured a toadstool, stuck the pumpkin on using 3D foam pads and also a polystyrene 1/2 acorn & an acorn base that has golden micro beads + glossy accents . I've die cut the letters (TH) for harvest @ coloured with promarkers- some ribbon & threads in shades of yellow & orange to finish it off.

Little patches

I promised someone, a few months ago now, that I would post some pictures of a quilt I made from fabric scraps & samples.

The finished quilt is hexagonal and the sides are 90cm (35.5") every patterned hexagon is different and stitched...yes by hand!...to a plain centre - some of these are duplicated :-(

It took a few years to collect samples from the various companies, they sent out real fabric in those days but sometimes the pieces were just too small :-(

And yes that is a real ruler!

It was a mad undertaking but it kept me out of mischief, has many memories incorporated into it thanks to the fabrics coming from scraps left over from making clothing by both myself & my mum.

And  no I don't take orders! I used to make machined duvet covers but not hand stitched ones :-)

Hope you like this share.

Gateway

I will never pretend that I can draw! However I did want to join in with the inchie crowd this week so here is my gate share :-)

A little picket fence ( black & white Sharpies) with a crazy paving path!!!

Autumn scraps

I managed a little play time yesterday despite everything conspiring to impede any progress!

A few more small creations out of the remnants & scraps box :-)  (such a good feeling to recycling) so here are my shares that are done with a recent free stamp on some "wrinkle-free" leftovers

On this one it's a foliage frame + the first word of a stamp, a little colouring and some leaves that I've had for about 10 years!

More left over background, autumn & leaves stamps and some maple leaf brads from a USA trip 2 years ago.

That's a few more ATCs ready to swap :-)

Enjoy the rest of the week-end.

ARROWS

This weeks CAS-ology challenge is all about arrows....

Cupid ?
Game spinners ?
Directions ?
I really could not make up my mind....
All I could think about was Left Under Bottom Right!

I may well come back to that one as I'm sure I can go somewhere with it :-)

Hmmmm, it's an old friends birthday soon, turning 60! No names....! None of you know him!

So I decided a birthday card was needed. I've gone for an A5 size in dark green with a 3" square white panel that has been stamped with YOU ( part of a paper artsy stamp) and some arrows - the 3 in front of YOU are cut from some Paper Artsy hearts (love & kisses1) the short broad arrow is from their Bricks & Mortar 2 plate whilst the long skinny one is from a gaming sheet of stamps by Invoke.
I have used DI seedless preserves, pine needles & festive berries - Colorbox alpine & peony for the inking.

No numbers appear anywhere....but I may still put a 60 inside because I can!!!

Bits and bobs

I been using up more of the odds & ends that have been sitting on my desk or in the oddments box and made up some small square cards. As luck would have it there are 2 twinchie challenges that these will fit :-) www.showusyourtwinchies.blogspot.co.uk challenge (autumn) & www.twinchieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk (anything goes)

The backgrounds are some papers coloured with oil pastels, I used the reverse side of the paper as I liked the texture. And the leaves are tissue paper that has been coloured with distress inks, over stamped and then diecut. The leaves are left over from a Tammy Tutterow tutorial that I tried out a couple of months ago, some of the leaves are in fact a few layers thick (hellish difficult to separate) so just to make sure that everything stayed together...I dabbed the twinchies with versamark & sprinkled with clear embossing powder! Once they had been heated the colours popped so much more :-)

I've used a textured paint chip (USA) to mount this one.

A leftover dry embossed wallpaper scrap for this one!

A piece of gift wrap...

Another textured paint chip.

AUTUMN HERE WE COME!

Monday inchies

The theme this week over at everyinchiemonday is ROAD.

I have a few that fit the bill so here is my share

Keep on rolling is an inkadinkadoo stamp, stop, traffic lights, US 101 & interstate 95 are all from a journaling pad that I got years ago - both roads are near my grandchildren!

Just playing

2 ATCs where I have used TH spiders web embossing folder with some treasure gold, cuttlebug
Skulls, Boo & pumpkins and a Spellbinders pumpkin. The "scary eyes" are some stickers I found in my stash- I think the grandchildren may have given me them!

I get about a dozen "Trick or Treaters" come round every year so this year I thought I'd do some little cards to give as well as a few sweets, I might make cinder toffee this year :-)

Moo mania

I had a lot of fun with this new MOO challenge - sewing being the latest theme

I had the good fortune to find the Tim Holtz weathered textiles stamps in TKMAXX  last week and it only seemed right to use them to create the base for this collection of MOOs - stamped in archival & coloured with Milled Lavender.

Here are the front & back

A small left over + ribbon & a button
2 eyelets coloured with Promarker to blend as they were pale pink!

Pages 1&2

The sewing machine is from a set of free stamps (Cardmaking & Papercraft)
The strip of buttons is part of a Paper Artsy set (buttons plate 2) I've added a little colour with Promarkers, added a Nitwits paper button & 2 button brads.

Pages 3&4
The needle & thread is from the same free set, learn to sew is PA buttons plate 4 & the stitches comes from another set of free stamps :-) - the fringing is a Prima stamp I got on a visit to the USA.

Pages 5&6

The hook & eye and the rolled tape measure are also from a free set of stamps.
The scissors is part of the Cardmaking & Papercraft set ant the thimble & Pins and needles are from Paper Artsy Buttons 4.

Pages 7&8
Lace piece & lady in a lace coiffe are PA Buttons 2 & the word lace from plate 4,
Hand stitched is another free stamp as is the patchwork square (craft stamper)

Hope you've managed to stick with me to the end - here is the opened out booklet

Birthdays

Two of the cards that are going out this...one person has no computer & the other is a technophobe so no fear of them seeing these :-)

I'm off to consider my next moo creation (sewing)...

Stripes

My scraps box has been a goldmine today - the challenge across at fun with ATCs #96 is for stripes and here are some of the results created from discards & leftovers...

This one is my challenge link
A scrap mounted on black & white with lines extended.

And here are a few variations - the make of stamp is unknown but it's been coloured with promarkers
On black.

On brown.

On a piece of TIFFANY catalogue that is almost the perfect shade, again I've extended the lines.

On black.

This also reminded me of a card I made a while back that I've not shared

A dark brown base, a layer of feather edged pink mulberry paper & a layer of sketch pad paper - the stamps are Stampington clearly impressed range (shore cliff & fresh flowers) walnut ink for the weed, seedless preserves for the "plaques" , picked raspberry for the stars but I cannot remember what I used for the row of "scribble" squares!

I added mother of pearl buttons and some strips of ribbon that have been hand stitched onto the top layer of paper. These add-ins all came from the humongous stash box :-)

Enjoy!

Silhouette

The CAS 61 challenge is silhouette

I was rather spoilt for choice on this one! What with Halloween, Christmas & flowers all being options and I could not make up my mind which way to go - at least it had to be clean & simple :-)

I did 3 Twinchies , 2 moos, an ATC & an arched ATC as well as the 2 cards I'm sharing.

The stamps are Paper Artsy stamped in black onto pale blue card stock & mounted on 6x4 white card blanks.
This is my entry at the challenge

And here is the other share

All they need adding is an appropriate message inside.

Music

A second post from me today, this time with my entry for the Addicted to CAS ATCAS21 challenge  which is MUSIC.

I've used an inkadinkadoo stamp that I coloured with felt pens (brand unknown) stamped directly onto card, I've added a little border from a set of stamps that I bought in the St Andrews branch of Ryman inked with crushed olive distress ink

You make me feel like dancin'.....

Back to school

CFC113 challenge time is "back to school" so here is my contribution!

A free stamp inked in black & coloured with promarkers :-)

And whilst I was at it I made another one with part of the same stamp & then I added a briefcase also coloured with promarkers. A little fake stitching around the edges....

Less is more

LIM#136 challenge is a colour one!

I've gone very simple: a negative die cut used as a stencil to create a rusty hinge background - a branch in the same colour & 2 leaves coloured with peeled paint. Both leaves & branch have been diecut using  the tattered garland die.

I shall add an appropriate greeting when the occasion arises.

Inchie Monday

A little paper scrap, a partial print of a Paper Artsy car and there you have this weeks inchie challenge!
