Lynn Perella

I thought I'd share a card I have made for a friends birthday. I have used a black 4"x6" card base, white card embossed with a cuttlebug "handwriting" folder & coloured with Vintage Photo ink, the Image is a Lynn Perella plate4 design that I won from Paper Artsy- it has been coloured with distress inks then the different images matted & layered, the face is tattered rose + a little Victorian Velvet, background is Bundled Sage, the tasselled fringe was stamped onto a dark tan card scrap, the lace trim at the top is a dark olive scrap. I have added black faceted gems to the bottom trim & at the top there is a band of gold grosgrain ribbon + some variegated ribbon sitting below, a circle of the dark tan card + a flattened jewellery end-cap & gem, some antique gold bullion wire + 2 gems and lastly a row of  textured golden glass beads.

I am entering this for the Try it on Tuesday challenge: anything goes

14-7-1942

70 Years ago my dear husband was born! 35 of those years have been spent married to me.... and to mark the occasion I needed a card that would show some of his interests so here is the finished item where I have used some old maps (appropriate sections of course), papers that I won last December, the car/ beer mugs stamps are Creative Stamping freebies, the bicycle is Tim Holtz & the skier is from A Muse Art Stamps- the numbers were cut using my cuttlebug.

He fell off his bike back in December and damaged his rotator cuff so has had a 2cm tear to the tendon mended....so no cycling at the moment! He used to rally but not in a car like the one on the card, he does enjoy driving however & does all the driving when we go driving to the South of France. Ski-ing is our joint passion and we spend every winter on the ski slopes in the southern french alps.

A real fan of "real ale" we will be heading along to the Deeside Brewery beer fest later on today and as a birthday treat a friend has arranged s taxi for us all so no one has to be a designated driver :-D.

I don't expect to be receiving a handmade card from him on Monday but I am sure that there are some lovely cards for me to open.

Thanks for looking.
