Time for another challenge! CASology is going green this week so I have a green base card (4x6) a strip of gold mirri card & one of the stampers anonymous stamps. I've stamped in black, clear embossed & coloured with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour in 2 shades of green. 4 little bits of bling at the meeting of the lozenges to finish.
Oops! I've just discovered that I missed the boat on that one :-(, oh well, c'est la vie!!!
So I'll share the other green card I made using another stamp from the same set. I have stamped & embossed in copper then watercoloured using Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough & Shabby Shutters- also a 4x6 card blank but this time a white one. So no challenge link this time. Enjoy.

Absent
I have just had a few days away at summer school...The tutor was a lovely lady, originally from South Africa, and she loves hand-embroidery & beads. Do check out her website (www.varigalore.com)
12 of us attended the class at Stirling University, old friends & new, all members of the Scottish branches of the Embroiderers Guild- I can't believe I have been going since 1991, we started out at the textiles college in Galashiels in the Borders & moved to Stirling 5 years ago.
So here are some photos of the lovely work that was produced over the 2 1/2 day course...

Some of the pieces got finished, some are almost there...These were all done using a basic "kit" that you could get from the tutor. Mine???? Well of coourse I had to be different, some of you will realise that this is nothing to be surprised about! So instead of making a brooch or pendant, pincushion or scissors keeper I decided to make a cuff! Not finished yet but I do plan to :-D so watch this space...
A little teaser for you

TIOT....Halloween
For some strange reason I was feeling all "spooky" for this challenge so I decided to run with it, maybe it's because I shall be visiting both stepchildren next month and the USA make such a big thing about Halloween , what ever...
A white 5"x7" card, some lime green paper dry embossed with a Tim Holtz alterations folder (cobwebs), some orange ribbon. For the oval the stamp is from Chocolate Baroque "spookyliscious" that I have coloured with Promarkers, the night sky is water coloured using distress ink in Chipped Sapphire, the grass with Peeled Paint. I have used Bat, Boo & Ghost from a 3x3 cuttlebug Halloween die that I have then coloured.
All set to post to the grandchildren in October & 1 challenge entered :-)
Enjoy the challenge

OMG
This was my desk & adjacentarea at 10.00 before I started "sorting"! It got a lot worse....& then it got a bit better :-) I was busy trying to work out what I wanted in the way of replacement units from storage4crafts ( sale on!!!)
I wish I could do the whole room or even 2 wall in floor to ceiling but too costly plus my knackered old desk is a great size (used to do all my cutting out on it when dressmaking)
Will try to get some crafting done today :-) as its only 14.30!

Less is more....
The challenge this week is feathers/fur so I decided to dig out my panda stamp that has been neglected for a while. Just inked him up black on white, some clear embossing and a little colour (shabby shutters for the bamboo leaves, grey felt pen for the fur) Reminds me that it's almost a year since I spent the day at Edinburgh zoo before their pandas arrived from China.
Hope to get more crafting done this w/e :-)

August tag time with Tim Holtz
This month was always going to be a challenge as I don't have any cameo style stamps so I have had to have a real rummage through my stamps to see what I could find to use and here is what I have come up with:
I've used a white tag that has had the bottom cut off using a "labels" die and then run it through a "button" embossing folder, the raised parts & edges have been coloured using DI Shaded Lilac.
The main stamp is from Paper Artsy (buttons 2 plate) as are the words that I used, they are stamped in black onto white card. The scissors are a stamp that I bought in Hobbycraft recently for £1!
I coloured a piece of lace & a paper flower with Shaded Lilac to use, added some silk flowers, buttons, a small lace bow and added some 'foliage' that I cut using my Sissix Festive Greenery die.
The words & the scissors have been raised using foam pads.
Hope you like it :-)
PS
the next challenge is going to see if Blogger will post today as I had no luck yesterday on the 6 times that I tried to post :-(

Pond
Crazy world but I'm on my second post of the day, that's what happens when you wake up too early!
CASology are doing a "pond" challenge but I'm not sure if tags count but here's hoping so I am entering this small tag where I have coloured the sky with Pan pastel Ultramarine Blue tint, the water is coloured in Distress Broken China, Promarkers (ivory & vanilla) for the flowers, Distress Mowed Lawn for the leaves. The stamps are: dragonfly from Clear Stamps forever friends minis, frog is a body tattoo stamp from l'Oreal & the water/flowers/foliage is from an Allnight Media set.
Hope it's ok for the challenge :-)

CAS-ual Fridays CFC64
Saw this challenge whilst blog hopping last night and fate meant that I had recently made a card that seems to fit the bill so here is a little ray of sunshine on what is a rather foggy morning with us!
White base card, sheer black ribbon tied around a strip of white card- yellow, black & white labels cut using a Nestabilities set and the stamp is a Craft Stamper freebie. Colouring was done with a yellow felt pen.
So I am going to enter this in the CFC64, hope they like it :-)

Less is more...
In green & blue.
A white 5x7 card stamped with sunny sunflowers in chipped sapphire then clear embossed & coloured with tumbled Glass & Broken China, 2 leaves from the same set stamped in Forest Moss then clear embossed & coloured with more Forest Moss.
I did 2 more flowers the same way & fussy cut to give the flower a little dimension - cutting some of the petals away for creating depth- I added 3 "fallen" petals to the card.
He loves, he loves me not....

Lynn Perella
I thought I'd share a card I have made for a friends birthday. I have used a black 4"x6" card base, white card embossed with a cuttlebug "handwriting" folder & coloured with Vintage Photo ink, the Image is a Lynn Perella plate4 design that I won from Paper Artsy- it has been coloured with distress inks then the different images matted & layered, the face is tattered rose + a little Victorian Velvet, background is Bundled Sage, the tasselled fringe was stamped onto a dark tan card scrap, the lace trim at the top is a dark olive scrap. I have added black faceted gems to the bottom trim & at the top there is a band of gold grosgrain ribbon + some variegated ribbon sitting below, a circle of the dark tan card + a flattened jewellery end-cap & gem, some antique gold bullion wire + 2 gems and lastly a row of textured golden glass beads.
I am entering this for the Try it on Tuesday challenge: anything goes

WYWDW
Well, just what is on my work desk? Not a great deal is the short answer- I made some as yet "un-post-ables" yesterday & today I've had to clear everything out of the way so that I could make a cover for the new wireless printer and whilst I'm at it I really need to do some running repairs to a few pairs of jeans (hems etc) so here is my clear workspace, I'd forgotten what it looks like :-)
